Social Marketing Strategy: Highlighting Benefits
The mother of a 22-year old son who died 3 years ago in a motorcycle accident met the recipient of her son’s heart at an event “Donation Celebration”, hosted by LifeCenter Northwest that honors the legacies of organ donors and their families. She came to the event prepared with a stethoscope, wanting to take the opportunity to hear her son’s heartbeat “once again.” The news video showed her putting the stethoscope on the recipient’s chest and then putting her ear there for a final “touch.”It is a clear example of the power of highlighting a desired benefit for a behavior, making it real.
