TV news segment feature “Hope Chicago” a program developed to increase college admissions applications and completion. The program development was motivated by the following statistics:

“For every100 students who enter a Chicago Public School, only 30 will earn a postsecondary degree.”

Services offered to qualifying high school students include one on one counseling, as well as college scholarships. In terms of results:

“Prior to Hope Chicago, college enrollment rates at the five Hope Chicago partner high schools averaged 57%. In Hope Chicago’s first year, that number jumped to 74%. PLUS, Hope Chicago Scholars are more likely to enroll in a degree program at competitively ranked four-year institutions.“
