Overview of Social Marketing Quarterly (SMQ) #

The Journal of Social Marketing publishes research that develops and integrates marketing concepts with other approaches to influence behaviour that benefits individuals and communities for the greater social good. From Emerald Publishing Ltd. since 2011. With an Editor-in-Chief living in New Zealand, tis journal also has regional editors in Europe, North America and Asia. It has earned a Scopus rating of 4.7 in 2022, and 4.4 in 2023.

Social Marketing Case Studies and Articles #

This journal publishes research across a wide array of health, environment and social issues in any of the following areas:

  • Conceptual studies
  • Theory development
  • Literature reviews examining the evidence base
  • Evaluation of soial marketing programs/interventions. These case studies describe actual interventions or experiences within organizations. They can be subjective and don’t generally report on research. They can also cover a description of a legal case or a hypothetical case study used as a teaching exercise.
  • Formative research and consumer/market insight studies
  • Segmentation studies
  • Studies evaluating and/or experimenting with any aspect of the social marketing mix
  • Behaviour change studies
  • Downstream/midstream/upstream social marketing programs/interventions
