iSMA is looking for two volunteer doctoral research associates or master’s level research assistants to contribute to its support for the Global Alliance for Social and Behavioural Change: https://globalallianceforsbc.org/

The Global Alliance for Social and Behaviour Change (The Alliance) is a multi-stakeholder partnership established in 2018. The Alliance’s ultimate goal is to align our efforts to achieve, in part, the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by 2030 in a cross-sectoral, collaborative manner. The Alliance’s role and purpose are to lead, galvanize, and facilitate international efforts, aligning with and promoting national and regional processes aimed at advancing the scale, quality, impact, and sustainability of communication for development, media for development, and social and behavioural change strategies. The Alliance is a collective of partners, categorized by different constituencies, with common interests, perspectives, and roles in the social and behaviour change sectors. iSMA is one of the Alliance’s partners.

The Roles:

Representing iSMA, the volunteers will work as evidence database coders. Volunteers will be trained in the data entry protocols for the SBC Impact Database: https://globalallianceforsbc.org/evidence-for-impact/. They will be trained to review and code articles for entry into the database. The workload will be a maximum of 10-12 hours per year. The positions are unpaid; however, as a token of appreciation, volunteers will be entitled to use the title “iSMA Research Associate” or “iSMA Research Assistant.” Volunteers will also be given free membership to iSMA and discounts on iSMA events, including the World Social Marketing Conference.

If you are interested in becoming an iSMA volunteer for one of these positions, please contact Victoria Mwangi, iSMA Global alliance representative by the 1st of February.
