Major announcements were made today on television, radio, and digital outlets announcing the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) decision to lift the indoor mask mandate (soon).
After pondering what intervention tool this would be, I believe it could be seen as the removal of a “Nonmonetary Disincentive”, a mandate in place for more than a year.
This happens in social marketing campaigns, as it should. Adjustments are made based on the uptake of a protective behavior. What I like about this is that it helps to position “the government” as basing strategies on current data.
