NBC’s Nightly News on October 16, 2020, featured an inspiring story about a group of 50 third graders in Washington DC who were sending postcards to registered voters encouraging them to vote in the upcoming election. At that time, they had already completed 1200 of them
Postcards were “handwritten” and included colorful graphics and messages such as:
- “Voting is your superpower.”
- “It’s a part of democracy to vote.”
- “Help make a better country.”
- “Use your privilege.”
- “Everyone can make change if they do something.”
Messages did not endorse or promote candidates. Their “behavior objective” was to increase voter turnout so that the winner was representative of “the people.”
